Introduction

The Vietnamese Language Center for Foreigners has over 34 years of experience researching and teaching Vietnamese to foreigners. In 2020, the Vietnamese Language Center for Foreigners, under the Vietnamese Studies Department, was established by the decision of the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM.
The Vietnamese Language Center for Foreigners, under the Vietnamese Studies Department, has the following functions and responsibilities:
Organizing training programs to enhance Vietnamese language proficiency;
Conducting Vietnamese language proficiency tests for foreigners;
Training and developing Vietnamese language teachers as a second language;
Providing services for foreign learners.
Each year, the center enrolls thousands of students in Vietnamese language courses and specialized “Study Tour” programs that introduce Vietnamese history, culture, and people.
The Vietnamese Language Center for Foreigners collaborates in teaching Vietnamese and Vietnamese culture to the staff of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), National Chengchi University (CCU) Taiwan, Kokushikan University, Japan, and employees of Hansae, Hansoll, Enercon, Mitsui & Co., Global Logistics (Vietnam), and Prominent Vietnam.
